At 65, I began experiencing aches and pains, and my family noticed I was often in a bad mood. I started forgetting things, like where I’d placed items or what I was looking for.

Along with the memory issues and mood changes, I also started having urinary control problems, which I was too embarrassed to mention for over a year. While traveling with my daughter, I was in the passenger seat while she drove, and I lost control of my bladder. She noticed, and we talked about it. I confided in her that I felt overwhelmed by reading articles on how to treat my condition.

It was then that I shared with her that I had been taking prescription sleeping pills (Sonata, Lunesta) for a while. Her doctor suggested that these pills might be contributing to the Alzheimer 's-like symptoms. The following week, my daughter took me to a nutritionist, who helped me make some dietary changes, including eating more green vegetables like broccoli and spinach.

The nutritionist also advised me to skip breakfast at first to give my body a chance to heal. This process, called “Intermittent Fasting,” was introduced to me as a gradual approach. I had my dinner at 9 p.m., then skipped breakfast the next day. I ate my first meal at noon, followed by another around 4 or 5 p.m., and then my final meal at 9 p.m.

The nutritionist explained that fasting allows the body time to heal and that fasting at night aligns with the body’s natural cycle. A 12-hour fasting period was an easy way to begin. The symptoms I had—insomnia, irritability, and memory loss—were linked to cellular damage in my DNA. Fasting was helping to repair this damage.

One of my main struggles with the diet was the desire to eat in the mornings. The nutritionist suggested I drink water or tea without sugar while fasting, but I was still hungry. To help manage my appetite, she recommended taking “Appetite Control” capsules. She also advised taking “Cell-Restore” two hours before my first meal to speed up DNA cell recovery. If I had trouble sleeping at night, I replaced my prescription sleeping pills with natural “Insomnia” capsules.

After just two weeks, my insomnia was gone, my mood improved, and by four weeks, I regained control over my bladder. My memory issues also improved. Now, two years later, I can happily say that my digestion and gut health are better, and I feel and move as if I’m ten years younger.

I can hardly believe how much of a difference these simple changes have made in my life. I now believe that Intermittent Fasting, along with proper nutrition and exercise, can help reverse other health conditions too.

During the first month, the nutritionist monitored my vitamin and mineral levels to ensure I wasn’t deficient. I also take daily vitamins and minerals like B12, Zinc, Copper, and Selenium. If you plan to follow a similar program, I recommend consulting with an expert in this area.

I’m grateful to my husband, Robert, for doing this plan with me. His support made it easier to follow every step. I also want to thank my daughter Nancy, her nutritionist Jessica, and Ron for all their help.
